Curled into itself, the fox sleeps — its tails gathered around its body in soft, drifting plumes, like smoke that has settled. Nothing stirs; nothing needs to. Drawn in raw black ink and fine line on warm cream paper, in the spirit of classical Japanese sumi-e, the curled tails flowing out into swirls of empty space. This is seijaku: not the emptiness of an unused room, but the deep, settled calm of a creature entirely at peace. Even a spirit fox, restless and shape-shifting in the old stories, is here simply resting.
