A figure moves along a misted shoreline, its reflection breaking softly in the water below — both the figure and its mirrored image already on their way out of the frame. Drawn in raw black ink on warm cream paper, gestural and quiet, in the spirit of classical sumi-e. This is mujō, impermanence: the truth that nothing holds still. The reflection makes it plain — even the image of the moment is unsteady, rippling, passing. A contemplative piece for a wall the eye rests on in passing.

  • Ma (間) — the eloquence of negative space
  • Wabi-sabi (侘寂) — finding beauty in imperfection and impermanence
