Series
Koi
The koi (鯉) is one of Japan's best-loved symbols of strength and perseverance, after the old story of the carp that swims up a waterfall and becomes a dragon.
I create sumi-e-inspired art prints, and the Koi Series follows a single fish at a time: turning through clouded water, gliding down towards its own reflection, curling through a field of vermilion. Soft ink washes, a few quick strokes and plenty of open space keep each one calm, on warm sepia, ochre or deep red grounds.
For a study, a hallway or a living room that wants one strong, quiet focal point. Made to order on your choice of Matte or Fine Art (archival) paper.
