How it's made
Every Yugen piece is a digital design inspired by sumi-e ink painting, developed with the help of digital and AI tools and finished in the studio. Each one is a print, not a hand-painted original, made to order by JONDO, our print partner, including for UK and EU orders.
About this print
A grey sake flask, tokkuri, and a small cup sit side by side, both pieced back together with seams of gold. Kintsugi (金継ぎ, 'golden joinery') is the Japanese craft of mending broken pottery with lacquer and gold, so the repair becomes part of the object's story rather than something to hide.
Stone grey, charcoal and gold on a warm cream ground, printed on your choice of Matte or Fine Art (archival) paper. A good fit for a kitchen, dining room or bar corner.
