Three commas chase each other around a circle, each tail sweeping into the next. This is the mitsudomoe, the three-comma swirl crest (kamon). In Japan it is tied to Hachiman shrines, and because the swirl was linked with water, it was set on roof tiles to ward off fire.

This print shows it in solid black on cream paper, with clean curves and nothing to distract from the shape. The swirl keeps the eye moving, so it gives a quiet room a little energy.
