Maru, Sleeping Cat in Sumi-e Ink

Every Yugen piece is a digital design inspired by sumi-e ink painting, developed with the help of digital and AI tools and finished in the studio. Each one is a print, not a hand-painted original, made to order by JONDO, our print partner, including for UK and EU orders.

8x12, 12x8 and the 14x14, 16x16 and 20x20 squares are printed on Fine Art paper only.

Maru shows a cat curled into a circle, eyes shut, whiskers traced in fine ink against warm cream paper, its shape echoing the ensō circle of classical Japanese ink work. Drawn in the spirit of sumi-e with loose, breathing lines and wide open space, this print comes on your choice of Matte or Fine Art (archival) paper, suited to a bedroom, reading nook, or any room built for slowing down.
