How it's made
Every Yugen piece is a digital design inspired by sumi-e ink painting, developed with the help of digital and AI tools and finished in the studio. Each one is a print, not a hand-painted original, made to order by JONDO, our print partner, including for UK and EU orders.
About this print
8x12 is printed on Fine Art paper only.
A lone ronin in a straw hat stands on a grassy bank while an amber moon hangs low over the water. Below him, black ink breaks across the river like a ragged shoreline. A ronin was a samurai with no master, and this one seems to have paused on his road just to watch the moon rise.
The print pairs black sumi ink and an amber moon with warm parchment, with the grain of the wash left in. It brings warmth to a pale wall and sits well with oak, linen and clay.
