How it's made
Every Yugen piece is a digital design inspired by sumi-e ink painting, developed with the help of digital and AI tools and finished in the studio. Each one is a print, not a hand-painted original, made to order by JONDO, our print partner, including for UK and EU orders.
About this print
A dark kyusu teapot with a side handle sits on a cream ground, its cracks mended in fine lines of gold. Kintsugi (金継ぎ, 'golden joinery') is the Japanese craft of mending broken pottery with lacquer and gold, so the repair becomes part of the object's story rather than something to hide.
Charcoal, grey and gold on warm cream, printed on your choice of Matte or Fine Art (archival) paper. It suits a kitchen, dining room or tea corner.
